This painting reminds me of my youth, when I lived in a place called “Tankah” near Tulum, Mexico. My father managed it as a copra ranch back in the seventies. It was nothing but a pristine wilderness back then, but now its a tourist attraction. 

There were mayan ruins on the property that had frescoes inside. This piece is reminiscent of the mayan wall paintings I saw when we lived there so many years ago.
